Chicago Placemaking

  • Spatial Planning

In partnership with Chicago’s Metropolitan Planning Council, the national Project for Public Spaces, and the Chicago Architecture Foundation, a placemaking event shed light on hidden public spaces throughout the Chicagoland area titled, What Makes Your Place Great? Your Hidden Corner of Chicagoland. Participants submitted their favorite public spaces including neighborhood parks, community gardens, and bustling business districts.

Two dozen places were nominated from Chicago, the surrounding suburbs, and Northwest Indiana. The series was part of a Chicago Architecture Foundation hosted exhibition and tour of the nominated sites.
