With a mission to address the invisible cultural lines that demarcate Bedouin from Jewish in Israel’s Negev, Desert Stars seeks to create a new generation of leadership. Through an episodic trilogy, we navigate the stories of Bedouin leaders - a young man, an independent woman, and a community elder - as they cultivate new identities that transcend tradition to form the modern Bedouin. Each story is crafted through a collaborative process, both in narrative and visual form. These mixed-media short films are complemented by an interactive web- documentary detailing the history of place, an organization at the heart of change, and the future of pluralism in the Negev.
