Bluets

Based on a collection of autobiographical prose by author Maggie Nelson, Bluets is a documentary adaption for the screen. This representation, along with her book by the same name, is a philosophical investigation of color as it relates to emotion, subjectivity, and collective/individual memory. Composed using both found and original footage of blue objects, the piece chronicles Nelson’s relationship with color after news of a friends quadriparesis.
